Orioles' Olson, Red Knights' Yedoni Win Section Track And Field Titles
St. Louis Park and Benilde-St. Margaret's will be represented in two events apiece at the state Class AA meet.

Mara Olson won two girls events, while Trevor Yedoni claimed one championship to highlight appearances by the Orioles and Red Knights at the Section 6AA track and field championship meet that concluded on Friday at Hopkins High School.

Olson will be St. Louis Park's lone state representative after the senior claimed victories in both the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs with respective times of 5 minutes, 14.62 seconds and 11:13.07.

It is the fourth-straight year that Olson won the sectional championships in both events.
The Orioles girls took eighth at the sectional meet with 35 points, the boys accumulated 17 points to finish 10th.

Yedoni, Jerabek Headed To State
Benilde-St. Margaret's will be represented by a lone competitor in both the state boys and girls competitions.
Trevor Yedoni claimed the sectional long jump title with a leap of 22 feet, 6 3/4 inches, while Haley Jerabek's time of 2:17.49 earned her a third-place finish in the 800-meter run and a state qualification.
The state meet is scheduled for June 10-11 at Hamline University in St. Paul.
