Patch Picks: Cheap Eats in SLP

We all have to eat out some time. Actually, some of us may eat out most of the time. Regardless, it is good to know that you can go and get really full in St. Louis Park without emptying out your wallet. With countless options, Patch gives you a few recommendations for tasty places to eat on the cheap:

: Forget about the you may have read about earlier this year. Thanh Do is one of the only local places where you can grab authentic Thai (or Chinese, or Vietnamese) cuisine. Comparing the low price to how good their meals are, you'll think you're ripping them off.

: Can't pronounce it? No big deal. Just know that the translation may or may not be something along the lines of "really, really good Dutch pancakes for a really, really good American price." Open for breakfast and lunch.

: Sure, the author used to work there. But it was during that four month stretch when he realized more people should know about their delicious, made-to-order sandwiches. Pesto chicken on rye, Tuscan turkey on flatbread, Garden tuna grille on 8-grain. All under $8.

: Beek's has had St. Louis Park on lock-down for much longer than many of Patch's contributors have been alive. This neighborhood pizza joint is like a well worn, favorite pair of jeans—you just keep going back to them. Heck, put those jeans on and go grab a pie tonight.

: If you don't want to eat out, that's fine with us. Grab whatever your recipe calls for from Trader Joe's. Some of their stock is a little spendy, but if you shop the store right, a little can go a long way. May we recommend the Trader Joe's brand veggie burgers with Indian spices? Maybe grab a bottle of "Three-Buck Chuck" (er, Charles Shaw wine for $3) while you're at it.
