Patch Picks: Great Exercise Facilities
A glimpse into the numerous exercise and training facilities here in town.

For some of us (author included), getting motivated enough to go out for a long run or setting aside a couple hours each day to work out is not the easiest thing to do. We're a busy bunch, living and working in a bustling metro area. In St. Louis Park, the hard part isn't joining the gym, it's choosing which gym to join. This week we suggest a few great exercise and training facilities that we think you'll like:
No, that's not a car dealership off Highway 100 between Excelsior and Minnetonka boulevards. It's a gigantic, state-of-the-art workout facility. Basketball courts? Check. Weight-training room? Check. More treadmills than you can count? Check. Sign us up for a membership? Done.
Cut from the same cloth as LA Fitness, Lifetime features so many amenities that a lifetime membership (pun intended) might not even allow enough time to take advantage of them all.

If you read this site at all, you know how proud we are to have the JCC in our community. On top of all the plays, film festivals and art shows we give them press for, the "J", as members call it, is also home to a really great recreational facility.
You don't necessarily need a weight room, racquetball court and cardio machines to help you stay in shape. Yoga can strengthen both your muscles and your mind, and there is no better place to do it in St. Louis Park than here. Located on Minnetonka Boulevard, right on the edge our city limits.

Ladies, if you need some guidance with your workout routines, this place is for you. Each workout divides the cardio and weight training into half-hour sessions. And personal trainers are on-site to help you every step of the way, down to what you'll have for breakfast tomorrow.
