The last time the Twin Cities had a "brown Christmas," or less than one inch of snow cover, was in 2006. Historically, the metro area has a white Christmas 72 percent of the time, the Minnesota State Climatology Office reports. The best shot at snow appears to be Friday, but little accumulation is expected.
