Red Knights Advance in Section 6AA

The Benilde-St. Margaret's Red Knights overwhelmed Robbinsdale Armstrong 7-0 in Thursday's Section 6AA boys hockey first-round playoff game and advanced to the semifinals on Saturday.

Forward Grant Besse scored four goals to lead the Red Knights and defenseman Patrick Daly added three assists. Anders Jecha earned the shutout by stopping all nine Armstrong shots.

The Red Knights will face Wayzata in the semifinals. The match-up pits the state's fifth-ranked team — BSM — with the fourth-ranked team. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Bloomington Ice Gardens, with the winner getting either Eden Prairie or Minnetonka in the section finals on Wednesday.
