Senior Spotlight: Amelia Swartout

Who was your favorite athlete growing up and why?

I mostly admired hockey players, and I have always wanted to play

How would you describe yourself in three words or less?

Amiable, extroverted, leader

What is your favorite subject in school?

Math, photography and psychology

Do you have a favorite sports memory that sticks out to you?

My sophomore year, I was playing my last game of the season and there were 30 seconds left. Since I play center, my coach told me to score a goal to tie it up, and I did, right off of the draw! I was so incredibly tired, but it was the best performance I’ve ever had.

What song do you listen to before games to get you pumped up?

I listen to a lot of hip-hop and and lot of good songs that I can belt out and sing with my teammates. For example, Chris Brown is a favorite.

If you could visit any place in the world, where would you go and why?

I would want to visit Europe, because I have never been, and there are so many fun places to go!

What are your plans next year (going to college? majoring in? playing sports?)

Next year I plan to go to the University of Minnesota science and engineering school. It should be a really great college experience!
