SLP Girls Hoops Blown Out on the Road
Unlike the boys, the St. Louis Park girls basketball team couldn't stay close with Chaska, losing on the road, 77-48.
For the second straight game, Abigail Olson led the Orioles in scoring, as she notched nine points. Megan Sawatzky added eight points.
Up next for St. Louis Park (0-2) is a Friday home game against St. Paul Johnson.
SLP Girls Hockey Gets Blanked
For the second straight game, the Orioles couldn't find the net, as they lost to the St. Paul Blades, 3-0.
Park (1-6) had its chances. The Orioles out shot the Blades, 29-26, but St. Paul goalie Molly Westfield was flawless in goal.
Up next for St. Louis Park is a Saturday home game against Spring Lake Park.
BSM Girls Hoops Wins Big
The Red Knights put on a show for their home fans, jumping out to a 29-18 halftime lead over St. Paul Highland Park en route to a 55-39 win.
Individual statistics were not immediately available.
Up next for BSM (2-1) is a Friday road game against Duluth East.
BSM Girls Hockey Breezes by Buffalo
The Red Knights had no trouble with host Buffalo, posting a 13-1 win.
After taking a 2-0 first period lead, BSM blew the game open with eight goals in the second. The Red Knights out shot their opponents 47-15. Sophomore Caitlin Reilly led the way with four goals and an assist. Five other Red Knights scored in the game.
Up next for BSM (4-2) is a Thursday home game against Shakopee.
BSM Wrestling
The Red Knights beat St. Croix Lutheran, 48-33, and lost to Minnetonka, 46-30, as part of the Ken Droegemueller Memorial Invite at Minnetonka High School.
Results against a third opponent in the quad match, Minneapolis North, were not immediately available.
Up next for BSM is the Dells Dual, a Saturday tournament in Wisconsin Dells.
