Sports Roundup: Red Knights Tie Rogers In Regular-Season Finale

Top-ranked BSM girls soccer closes out undefeated regular season, earns first-round playoff bye.

The last of the local soccer teams closed out its regular season on Saturday, as the girls claimed a non-conference tie to conclude an undefeated pre-playoff slate.

BSM's 2-2 tie versus Rogers on Saturday gave the Red Knights, ranked No. 1 in Class A, an undefeated 13-0-3 record in the regular season as the squad now prepares for the playoffs.

Having earned the top seed for the Section 6A Tournament, BSM received a first-round bye and will open the playoffs at home against either Mound Westonka or Delano on Oct. 13.

Peggy Renier was the team's regular-season scoring leader with 17 goals, while Dana Buckhorn's 14 assists topped the squad heading into the post-season.

Orioles, Red Knights Socccer Learn Playoff Seeds

The BSM boys soccer team claimed a No. 1 seed and a first-round bye for its Section 6A Tournament. The Red Knights will host either No. 8 Watertown-Mayer or No. 9 Southwest Christian School on Oct. 13.

The St. Louis Park boys and girls soccer teams both claimed No. 4 seeds for their respective Section 6AA Tournaments. The Orioles girls host Minneapolis South on Oct. 13 at 5 p.m., with the Park boys taking on visiting Roseville two hours later.

Red Knights Volleyball Competes in Tournament

The BSM volleyball team placed 32nd at the St. Michael-Albertville Tournament on Friday and Saturday, going 0-5 in tourney play to drop to 6-14 on the season. Individual statistics were not available.
