SLP Residents Take 1st, 3rd in Maple Grove 5K

More than 1,000 runners participated in the Maple Grove Half Marathon & 5K Saturday at Maple Grove Senior High, and St. Louis Park was well represented.

In the male overall category, Andrew Jewell of St. Louis Park took first, Pat Keehner of La Crescent came in second and Kurt Jewell of St. Louis Park took third. 

The 5K female overall winners were Suzanne Brakob of Maple Grove with the first place win, Lindsay Arnot of Rochester with second place and Susan Peterson of Maple Grove with third place. 

Top finishers in the half marathon in the female category were Amy Halseth of Minneapolis with first, Cindy Balckstock of Plymouth with second and Kristy Stone with third. In the male category, Wade Cruser of Sauk Rapids came in first, Derick Podratz of Lino Lakes second and Joseph Papin of St. Paul third.
