Albertville Council To Meet Tonight
Albertville City Council meets the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month.

Items on the agenda include discussion about urban chickens. Albertville resident Chad Dahlheimer approached the council at the June 18 meeting about a chicken coop he had built in his yard after contacting the city only to be later informed that it was a violation of code. To date, Dahlheimer has spent $1000 on the chicken coop.
Al Brixius shared with the council that current code says that farm animals are only allowed in agricultural zoned areas in the city but is looking into what other cities have done and will be reporting back to the council tonight.

City engineer Adam Nafstad will also be discussing mosquito control options and costs with the council. Residents have contacted the city about the excessive mosquitos this season due to the warm temperatures.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.
