St. Michael Couple Launching Home Improvement Business

Adam and Liz Meredith of St. Michael have excitedly launched a new local business.

For the last three years St. Michael dad, Adam Meredith has stayed home with the couples five children but knew that once they were all in school full time he'd want to do something new.

"I'm an entreprenuer at heart," Adam said joking that he treated home life with the kids like he was the job site manager. It's not hard to imagine the need for a job site manager when the kids are ages 6 to 14.

Adam has worked in construction for 21 years doing different remodeling jobs even on the side while staying home.

"We've been pretty serious about it for the last two years," Adam's wife, Liz said noting that this is the first year that all of their kids will be in school full time. Liz will be running the business side of things including running the website.

Their business, ALM Improvements, will focus on a variety of home improvement projects ranging from additions, decks, bathroom and kitchen remodels, sheds and storm repair. Adam plans on utilizing subcontractors that he has worked with in the past. "I've kept relationships in tact over the years," he said.

Their long term goal is to keep the business small and family run. "We want to do quality work and stay in St. Michael maybe expanding to an office outside of our home," Liz said.

As Liz works on the website that will launch next week, Adam has been busy getting everything ready for launch including automating some parts of the business. The two hope to be able to grow their business in the community and also give back. "We love living here and want our business to be here because it's small town without being small town. There's such a strong sense of community," Liz said.
