University Of Minnesota Extension Office To Conduct Free Fruit And Vegetable Production Webinar On April 7

The University of Minnesota Extension Office has been forced to alter some of its scheduled programming from in-person workshops to webinars due to the social distancing protocol.

Extension will be hosting a Fruit and Vegetable Production webinar from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 7. The live virtual workshop will focus on the pests, diseases and pollinators.

The workshop is free and pre-registration is required to gain access to the into the virtual classroom, participants sign in at z.umn.edu/veg. For those unavailable to attend at the time of the webinar can still register for the workshop and watch an archived recorded version of the live event shortly after it is completed.

The program has three presenters that will guide viewers through the virtual workshop. Extension Educator-Fruit Production Annie Klodd will discuss the use of exclusion netting to deal with Spotted Wing Drosophila. Extension Educator – Vegetable Production Natalie Hoidal will discuss disease prevention and University of Minnesota Agriculture Technician Gary Reuter will deliver a presentation on mutually beneficial habitats for pollinators and your fruit or vegetable fields.
