• Neighbors help neighbors with Stewart Trail Fire relief fundraiser (northernnewsnow.com) — Two Harbors neighbors packed Harbor Theater Tuesday night to raise more than $2,000 for Stewart Trail wildfire victims and to support an ongoing United Way relief fund. Local bands, restaurants, and volunteers turned the free event into both a fundraiser and a much-needed emotional boost, and Harbor Theater will keep collecting online donations for affected residents.
   

• Yearling bear sightings in Grand Marais lead DNR to urge securing bird food and attractants (wtip.org) — A DNR wildlife manager based in Two Harbors is urging North Shore residents to secure bird feeders, garbage, and other attractants after a young black bear was repeatedly spotted around Grand Marais. The Two Harbors DNR office has fielded several calls and says “tough love” now—scaring the bear off and removing food sources—can prevent future problems for both people and wildlife.
