• WASECA AREA FOOTBALL RESULTS: Bluejays advance while Bulldogs get eliminated (tncontentexchange.com) — Waseca football fans can look forward to another home playoff game Saturday at 2 p.m., after the Bluejays beat Albert Lea 34-16 to advance in the Section 3AAA bracket. While Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton’s season ended with a close loss, Waseca holds the No. 2 seed and now faces Luverne in a rematch of last year’s section championship.
   

• Martial Music: USD Alumnus Brian Mann and Service Through Song (usd.edu) — A former Waseca resident, Brian Mann, is being honored by the University of South Dakota for a distinguished 24-year career as a U.S. Air Force musician and leader. He credits his small-town roots and college mentors for shaping his service, which included presidential inaugurations, Arlington National Cemetery funerals, and now church music and counseling work in Virginia.
