• Warrior Volleyball Prepares to Host No.13 St. Cloud State (winonastatewarriors.com) — Winona fans can catch Winona State volleyball hosting No. 13 St. Cloud State on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 6 p.m. in McCown Gymnasium, which will also feature Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night. • Trapping Permits for the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife Fish and Refuge go on Sale, October 6th (kctn.com) — Local trappers in Winona can soon buy $30 trap tags for the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge, with the Winona District Office handling sales by appointment on weekdays. The notice explains required state licenses, payment methods, and alternative district offices across Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois for those using other parts of the refuge.
• Minnesota State considers overhaul amid structural deficits (kttc.com) — Winona residents connected to Winona State University should know Minnesota State's chancellor is warning of structural deficits that could lead to administrative restructuring, job reductions, and even campus mergers or closures. While no specific plan for Winona institutions exists yet, a preliminary proposal is expected in January, with chances for public input before any decisions are made.
