WOODBURY (Minn.) – Following a brief hiatus to evaluate its programming, Woodbury’s longest running senior program is back and better than ever.
For more than 20 years area churches have joined forces with Trinity Presbyterian Church to offer a once-a-week, free, ecumenical program for seniors in South Washington County.
The rejuvenated program to be known as, Elder Friends 2Gether, builds on its history of offering participants and volunteers stimulating programming, as well as opportunities to develop friendships with peers.

“The new name is merely a reflection of what lives at the heart of our program, and that is the genuine, meaningful way in which our program brings people together,” said Joe Pendal, program coordinator. “While there are residential facilities that provide a host of activities for residents, and there exist other day programs, the one thing that we have always enjoyed is the sense of friendship and connection that comes from getting out of the day-to-day living arrangement to meet others.”
