Chick-fil-A says the five-restaurant rollout will create more than 500 jobs across the state.
WOODBURY, MN — Chick-fil-A plans to open five new locally owned and operated restaurants across Minnesota by the end of 2028, an expansion the company says will create more than 500 jobs, according to a press release from Chick-fil-A, Inc.
Mankato is set to get the market's first standalone restaurant this summer, according to the company.
Shakopee and Stillwater restaurants are planned for late 2026, followed by a Baxter location in 2027 and a Woodbury restaurant in 2028.

"Our expansion is about so much more than just opening restaurants. By empowering local Owner-Operators as independent small business owners, we're investing in people and communities, creating jobs, building trusted gathering spaces and serving neighbors both in and out of the restaurant."
Chick-fil-A has grown to 27 restaurants in Minnesota since opening its first location in the state in 2005, according to the company.
Local Owner-Operators also sponsor the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy at five Minnesota schools, a program aimed at teaching students leadership and community service skills, the company said.
The company said it has awarded more than 900 scholarships worth more than $1.9 million to Minnesota-based employees through its Remarkable Futures program, and has given $360,000 to Minnesota nonprofits through its True Inspiration Awards.
With the Mankato opening, Chick-fil-A's donations to Feeding America partners in Minnesota since 2020 will reach $250,000, the company said. Its Minnesota restaurants have also donated more than 430,000 meals to local nonprofits since 2017 through the company's Shared Table program.
