Woodbury Man Started House Fire After Rejection: Charges

A Woodbury man is accused of starting a house fire after allegedly trying and failing to invite himself into the home.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN — A Woodbury man is accused of starting a house fire after trying and failing to invite himself in. Ayden Michael McGinty-Garza, 21, has been charged with arson and burglary following his May 17 arrest. The alleged incident occurred in Oakdale.

The criminal complaint states occupants of a house in Oakdale on the 2700 block of Hilo Avenue called the police May 16 to remove McGinty-Garza from the property, the Woodbury Bulletin reported:

The occupant told police McGinty-Garza came to the front door and said he was invited to a party there. No one at the home recognized him.
McGinty-Garza allegedly became "irate" when he was asked to leave and shouted "Do you know what arson is?
Police determined McGinty-Garza was intoxicated and drove him to his grandmother's house.
