• FEMA Disaster Recovery Center opens (panolian.com) — Batesville now has a FEMA Disaster Recovery Center at the Batesville Enterprise Center on Nosef Drive to help residents hit by Winter Storm Fern. Trained staff can assist with applications, documentation, and questions about aid programs during weekday and Saturday hours, and anyone in an approved county can use the site or apply remotely.
   

• City moving forward with Sportxplex (panolian.com) — Batesville aldermen have voted 4–1 to buy about 111 acres on Highway 51, just north of J.P. Hudson Park, as the future site of a new baseball and softball sportsplex. City leaders say the location eases traffic concerns near Highway 6, satisfies earlier commitments tied to Academy Sports + Outdoors, and could shape local recreation and tournament tourism for years.
   

• Panola lands $8M in special projects (panolian.com) — Batesville is set to benefit from nearly $8 million in state-funded special projects, including money for a new ladder fire truck and a major extension of Covenant Drive to ease traffic near Covenant Crossing. Additional funds will support a new adolescent mental health facility, upgrades for South Panola schools, and improvements for volunteer fire departments and nearby towns.
