(onlinemadison.com) — Madison Ridgeland Academy recently honored 18 seniors who scored 30 or higher on the ACT, with Mayor Mary Hawkins Butler personally presenting certificates during Senior Awards Day. School officials say these seniors are part of MRA’s 30+ Club, and additional high-scoring juniors are expected to be recognized when new test results arrive in May.

(natchezdemocrat.com) — A Madison-Ridgeland Academy player, Ella Eatherly, knocked Cathedral’s Tatum Brumfield out of the No. 1 girls’ singles semifinals at the MAIS Class 4A South State Tennis Tournament in Jackson. Brumfield and teammate JZ Wingfield both finished fourth after dropping their consolation matches, but their coach praised their effort and improvement over the season.
   

• MDOT executive director pleased with 'pro-transportation' legislative session (magnoliatribune.com) — Major I-55 expansion work in Madison County is expected to start this year, backed by nearly $2 billion in new MDOT funding from a “pro-transportation” legislative session. State transportation chief Brad White says the agency can now better plan long-term projects, though it still needs federal help to fully fund highway capacity improvements statewide.
