• Mississippi honors fallen officers in annual memorial ceremony (wjtv.com) — Law enforcement officers, families, and community members gathered at the Mississippi Department of Public Safety headquarters in Pearl to honor 38 officers killed in the line of duty. The annual Fallen Officer Memorial Ceremony featured a 21-gun salute, roses placed at a memorial wall, and reflections from Pearl’s police chief and relatives who say the event helps keep their loved ones’ memories alive.
   

• MEMA teams validating damage reports as Mississippi tornado cleanup continues (wlbt.com) — Emergency officials based in Pearl are coordinating statewide cleanup and damage assessments after eight tornadoes struck Mississippi on May 6, damaging more than 400 homes and 21 businesses. MEMA teams are out verifying reports, while the Health Department is rolling out free Tdap shots and replacement birth certificates for affected residents in several hard‑hit counties.
