• NMHS names Shawn Morrow as chief operating officer (djournal.com) — North Mississippi Health Services, based in Tupelo, has named veteran health care leader Shawn Morrow as its new chief operating officer effective Aug. 31. He’ll oversee operations across all eight NMHS hospitals and clinics, bringing 25 years of executive experience from major systems around the country to shape care for patients across the region.
   

• Striking a Chord for Southern Music Scholarship (olemiss.edu) — A new $100,000 gift to the University of Mississippi’s Music of the South Endowment will deepen research and teaching on Southern music, drawing on the region’s rich heritage from Tupelo to Memphis and the Delta. The fund supports scholarships, archives, and future professorships that explore how artists like Elvis and B.B. King shaped American culture and history.
