UPDATE: Victim in Clay County shooting dies (wcbi.com) — A woman shot in a Clay County home has died after being airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, where both she and her son were taken. Authorities say the son allegedly shot his mother, then himself, and an eyewitness inside the home was not injured. Investigators currently believe mental health issues may have played a role.

Burnsville man faces DUI, other charges after vehicle struck roadside worker (wtva.com) — A roadside worker injured in a Burnsville work zone was airlifted to a Tupelo hospital and fortunately released the same day with no serious injuries. Police say a Burnsville man hit a garbage truck, entered a closed work area on Highway 72, and now faces DUI, drug, and traffic charges.
