Mayfield launches Clothing Closet for area youth (vicksburgnews.com) — Vicksburg families now have access to a new Clothing Closet helping local youth dress professionally for job interviews and other big opportunities. Alderman T.J. Mayfield and the City of Vicksburg’s Youth Services Coordinator are seeking donations, especially women’s professional attire, so more young people can confidently step into summer jobs and reduce barriers to success.
   

2. Jesus Tent Revival to bring unity to Vicksburg (vicksburgnews.com) — A five-night Jesus Tent Revival starts Wednesday, May 13, at 7 p.m. at the Vicksburg Outlet Mall, inviting residents from any background for worship, testimonies, and on-site baptisms. Led by evangelist Dr. Braden Andersen and sponsored by Solid Rock Church, the free event aims to unite Vicksburg’s many congregations and offer hope to families facing local struggles.
   

3. Local school district announces free summer meal program (fox40jackson.com) — Families in the Vicksburg Warren School District can get free summer meals for children 18 and under from June 3–30 at any of the district’s 16 schools. The program now includes weekly meal boxes with seven breakfasts and seven lunches, plus support for local camps and athletic programs. Parents must complete the online application by May 27 on the district website.

Single engine crash reported near Vicksburg-Tallulah Regional Airport (vicksburgnews.com) — Authorities are investigating a single-engine crash near the Vicksburg-Tallulah Regional Airport that involved well-known local pilot and businessman Dan Fordice, whose family construction firm is based in Vicksburg. Officials have confirmed he was flying his P-51 Mustang, which had just come out of maintenance. Details on damage and his condition remain limited as this story continues to develop.
