Through the USDA-backed program, the district offers two meals per child and simple online registration, aiming to ease grocery costs and fight food insecurity across the Anderson community and surrounding rural areas. 
• McDonald County prepares for first-ever cross-county Independence Day parade (koamnewsnow.com) — A massive new cross-county Independence Day parade will roll into Dabbs Greer Town Hole Park in Anderson on July 4, ending a 75–80 mile route with food, music, and swimming. Open to all street-legal vehicles, the escorted convoy will showcase McDonald County communities while celebrating America’s 250th birthday and giving Anderson residents a front-row seat to the finale.
