Arnold Rec Center Celebrates 7 Years with Membership Sale
The parks department is offering a 15% discount on membership through the month of August.

The will offer a 15% discount on yearly memberships in honor of the center’s anniversary. The discount only applies to memberships paid in full.
Susie Boone, Director of Parks and Recreation, said the sale always benefits the center by increasing membership for the year. She said on average about 400 people will take advantage of the sale by either signing up for a new membership or by renewing in August.
The sale could save a resident family $49.50, a Jefferson County resident family $67.50 or a non-resident family $79.35 off the cost of a yearly membership when paid in full.

Weekend Renovations
Boone said the rec center building shut down over the past weekend for a major overhaul. Maintenance crews replaced carpet, stripped and refinished the gym floors, repainted the locker rooms, cleaned the track and drained the indoor pool for an acid wash.
The outdoor pool remained open while the building was overhauled. It will be cleaned at the end of the summer season in September.
“We can’t do these things with the public in the building. This was a whole renovation,” she said.
