Missouri Department of Conservation says to leave wildlife wild (wgem.com) — In Hannibal, state conservation officials are urging residents to leave baby deer, rabbits, and other young wildlife alone, even if they appear abandoned. A Marion County conservation agent explains that mothers often stay away during the day to avoid predators and says people should only move animals slightly if they’re in danger from pets, noting it’s illegal to rehab wildlife without a permit.

2. MACC receives $4 million gift to support Hannibal campus (muddyrivernews.com) — Moberly Area Community College’s Hannibal campus is set for a major boost thanks to a roughly $4 million bequest from the Harold and Laura Robertson trust, one of the largest gifts in MACC history. College leaders say the funds will strengthen programs, facilities, and workforce training in Hannibal and across northeast Missouri, with detailed spending plans to be announced as planning continues.

3. Jett Karrick's 3-Run Blast is Highlight in Win Over Liberty (thepetersburgobserver.com) — Hannibal’s Pirates outslugged the Bluejays 20-13 in a wild, wind-blown game at Liberty, despite a huge late rally from the Jays. The same day, the Bluejays bounced back to beat Liberty 14-9, highlighted by Jett Karrick’s first career home run, a three-run shot in the seventh.

4. Davenport man accused of kidnapping, human trafficking (kwqc.com) — Hannibal is connected to a serious human trafficking investigation after Davenport police say they were alerted by Hannibal officers about a woman allegedly forced into sex work and sent there by Uber. An Iowa man now faces kidnapping and human trafficking charges tied to incidents beginning in early March, along with a separate vehicle theft charge.
