• County Council seeks to extend swimming ban at Rockford Park (myleaderpaper.com) — Jefferson County officials are moving to extend the swimming ban at Rockford Park in nearby House Springs after multiple drownings, with High Ridge councilman Brian Haskins strongly backing the safety measure. The county is also using federal funds to remediate a dangerous low-head dam, but leaders say the river access may still remain off-limits to swimmers to protect both visitors and first responders.
