Boy Killed After Vehicles Shoot At Each Other In Kansas City
The shooting happened on Saturday night in Kansas City, Missouri. The boy was caught in the crossfire, police said.

KANSAS CITY, MO — A 9-year-old boy was shot to death when people inside two vehicles opened fire on one another in Kansas City, Missouri, police said. The boy's father told police he was driving with his son on Saturday night when gunshots erupted.
The father initially didn't realize his son had been hit by the crossfire and he continued driving to Grandview. Upon learning his son had been shot, the boy was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead.
The name of the child wasn't immediately released. The father and child are presumed to be innocent bystanders, police said.

A driver fled the crime scene, crashed and was arrested, police said. That driver's role in the shooting has not been specified.
