Independence Hosts Christmas Choir Competition

Local high school choirs invited to perform holiday carols for a panel of local 'celebrity' judges and grand donation prize

It’s holiday season and that means one thing – time for carolers! Independence Center will be hosting 99.7 The Point's Christmas Choir Competition on Sunday, December 10 at 1 p.m. Four local school choirs will perform holiday carols in front of a panel of local 'celebrity' judges for the chance to win a grand prize donation to benefit their school’s choir.

99.7 the Point and the Youth Symphony of Kansas City have teamed up with Independence Center to host some friendly competition amongst Kansas City area high school choirs. The panel of local celebrity judges include celebrity guests, Bryan Busby and Tevin Williams who will provide the winning high school choir with a $5,000 check donated by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Kansas City Youth Symphony to go towards benefitting the high school’s choir program.

Local families are invited to partake in the exciting event and listen to holiday carols in Independence Center’s festive environment surrounded by holiday decor. Attendees will have the pleasure of listening to each of the final four high school choirs as they perform their selected songs of choice. The following local high schools will be performing the songs listed below.
