Kankas City Police Seek Suspects In May 4 Homicide

Detectives have located the car, which was a rental vehicle, but need to know who was using it at the time of the shooting.

Police are looking for two men captured on video leaving the scene of a homicide May 4.

Just before 5:30 p.m. that day, officers were dispatched to 500 E. 3rd St., the Cold Storage Lofts, on a reported shooting. Officers located a man deceased inside a vehicle in the circle drive at the entrance to the lofts. Witnesses said two men approached the parking lot's entrance. One of them shot the victim, who was sitting in a burgundy-colored vehicle in the circle drive. After the shots, the two suspects ran eastbound on 3rd Street.

The victim was identified as 41-year-old Charles Shirley.

Police located video of the suspects returning to a blue car after the shooting. Detectives have located the car, which was a rental vehicle, but need to know who was using it at the time of the shooting.
