Kansas City Man Gets Prison For Killing Woman

KANSAS CITY, MO — A Kansas City, Kansas man must spend 28 years behind bars for killing a woman in a Missouri apartment.

Derrick Williams, 32, was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to second-degree murder, a pair of first-degree assault counts and three armed criminal action counts.

Williams admitted he killed Denise Gayle, 32, in July of last year. Officers responding to a report of gunfire and screams found Williams naked outside the apartment, court records said.
