Kansas City Slow Reopening Adds More In-Person Options
Due to COVID-19 concerns, the Municipal Court remains closed past security for all other members of the public until further notice.

Municipal Court has started holding a limited number of trials and scheduled probation appointments. Only people identified ahead of time to attend will be allowed inside the courthouse, and they must check-in with security and wear a mask. Temperature screenings may be conducted.

The Court has created the option of appearing in court online in a video conference with the judge and prosecutor. To apply, go to kcmo.gov/court and click the Virtual Court Appearance link.

The website has additional details of this slow reopening phase, instructions for attorneys and other ways to do court business online, as well as by mail or phone.
Our Business License Office is reopening its storefront located at 1118 Oak St. on an appointment-only basis. You can book an appointment using a QR code, or by phone at 816-513-1120 (Press option #3), or online.
Only three guests will be permitted in the Business License Office lobby at one time and masks are expected to be worn and will be available at the office if you don’t have one. Please arrive no more than five minutes prior to your appointment. If you are more than 10 minutes late you will need to reschedule.
You can also apply online to renew or apply for a new business license through our QuickTax system.
