Lung Association Takes to Arrowhead Stadium to Tackle Lung Cancer
LUNG FORCE Glam to raise awareness, funds to fight number one cancer killer

Lung cancer is the number one cancer killer of both men and women in the U.S., so the American Lung Association in Kansas & Greater Kansas City is heading to Arrowhead Stadium this May to tackle this disease. The organization will host the LUNG FORCE Glam on Thursday, May 9 to raise awareness for lung cancer, celebrate survivors and fund life-saving research.
“Every two and a half minutes, someone is diagnosed with lung cancer. It accounts for more deaths than breast cancer, prostate cancer and colon cancer combined, yet it continues to be underfunded,” said Christy Fischer, event co-chair and four-time lung cancer survivor. “Together, let’s do something about that!”
This is the third year of the local Kansas City event, which will feature a cocktail reception, auction opportunities for all guests, a plated dinner and an inspirational program at Arrowhead Stadium. Almost 90 cents of every dollar raised will go to the Lung Association’s programs and services, including research, advocacy and health education.

“We know that it takes a force to fight lung cancer, so we hope our community will join us to give our iconic Arrowhead Stadium a splash of turquoise at the LUNG FORCE Glam,” said Linda Crider, the executive director for the Lung Association.
The event is presented by The Accurso Law Firm, The University of Kansas Health System together with The University of Kansas Cancer Center, and Applebee’s in partnership with CSCS. Saint Luke’s Cancer Institute is a gold sponsor of the event.
