Community Conversations with Municipal Court are part of a larger effort by the National Center for State Courts and the University of Nebraska Public Policy Institute to develop an engagement model for other courts to follow. The Kansas City, Missouri Municipal Court is one of only six courts chosen for the pilot project aimed at improving court-community trust. As part of this effort, Municipal Court also conducted a court-user survey, held three public engagements last November at community centers and a youth engagement session in February with students at Southeast High School. The events also are part of the City’s Speak Easy public forums.
