Raytown resident selected as 2017 Bank of America Student Leader
Raytown resident and Raytown Senior High School graduate Hope Romero selected for the 2017 Bank of America Student Leaders Program

Raytown Senior High School graduate Hope Romero was one of five Kansas City-area teens selected to be part of the 2017 Bank of America Student Leaders program this summer. The program awarded the students a paid, eight-week summer internship at a local nonprofit and a trip to Washington, D.C. to participate in the Bank of America Student Leadership Summit.
For the past four years, Hope has played an integral role on the Youth Advisory Council, a group that provides grants to local nonprofit organizations in eastern Jackson County to benefit youth and youth programs. Additionally, Hope and other members of the Raytown Senior Leadership class organized a food drive in the Raytown community to benefit local residents in need. Through these experiences, Hope has demonstrated strong leadership at young age.
As part of the Bank of America Student Leaders program, Hope received a paid, eight-week internship at the Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC). The internship provided her with valuable work experience while also supporting the nonprofit with extra help this summer. Hope is attending the University of Missouri at Kansas City this fall.
