“Democrats
walked the nation up to the brink of economic disaster with their refusal to
act on the debt limit for the past several months. The agreement reached to
avert a default did two important things. For the first time in nearly a
decade, it raised the debt limit by a specific amount instead of just
suspending the debt ceiling and allowing Democrats to spend as much as they
could during that time. And, it forced Democrats to raise the debt limit on
their own without a single Republican vote.

“The
purpose of the debt limit is to force a discussion on spending. Democrats are
refusing to have that discussion while hardworking Americans are paying the
price for skyrocketing inflation at the grocery store, the gas pump, and on
everyday essentials. The more debt Democrats pile on, the faster they’ll drive
family budgets to the breaking point. Democrats need to face reality and change
course.”
