Residents at Topeka Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare, the 120 bed nursing facility on SW Wanamaker Road in Topeka are rising above and being creative during these tough times. Many of the residents have painted pictures of hope on the windows of the facility, while others love being creative on paper creating signs for their loved ones to see. Families and friends have come to admire the art work, bringing tears to their eyes of the outside loved ones who long for those days before this ugly virus pandemic.

My staff have been there with the residents every step of the way to help them with every need,” said Ms. Brandon Smith-Ziph, Administrator of Topeka Center. “When it comes to anything of every day needs to their art work, our residents got it. We love to see them being themselves and creative.”

Many residents have been communicating with their families through today’s means of FaceTime, Skype, Zoom, plus texting, emails and, of course, the telephone. Some take advantage of social media creating gorgeous signs on social media.
