• Liberty data center deal funds new AI ethics nonprofit (kshb.com) — Liberty’s $1.4 billion Metrobloks data center deal is funding a new Liberty Institute for Science and Ethics at William Jewell College, backed by $27.75 million over 25 years. City leaders say the nonprofit will study AI and tech ethics, while some residents question transparency, Sunshine Law coverage, and how its board will be chosen and overseen.
   

• Stirtz Earns Chris Street Award; Manyawu Kenny Arnold Spirit Award (hawkeyesports.com) — Liberty residents can cheer one of their own: senior guard Bennett Stirtz, a Liberty native, just earned the Chris Street Award after a record-setting season for the Iowa Hawkeyes. He scored 734 points, led Iowa to the Elite Eight, and joined an elite group of college players with more than 2,000 points and 550 assists in a career.
