Brentwood Debate Qualifies 3 to National Competition

The Speech and Debate team competed in the Eastern Missouri National Forensic League District Tournament March 8-10.  After more than 30 hours and many rounds of competition, three students qualified to the national tournament in Indianapolis this summer. 

National Qualifiers are:

Paige Anderson:  Dramatic Interpretation

Dallas Neely:  Extemporaneous Speaking

Chris Reichert:  Humorous Interpretation

Juniors Steven Sandler and Lucy Sappington were also close to qualifying to the national tournament with Steven taking second place in Student Congress and Lucy receiving fourth place in Duo Interpretation. 

This is senior Paige Anderson's first time to the national tournament.  Senior Chris Reichert and Junior Dallas Neely will be returning for the second time.  The three students will go compete for the Eastern Missouri District in Indianapolis June 11-15.
