Brentwood resident Linda Zeman and several hundred other Girl Scout volunteers and staff members took the To Get Her There pledge on Saturday afternoon at Maritz - a pledge to work together so that girls can succeed.
To Get Her There, which was founded by the Girl Scouts of the USA in their 100th year of existence, is a campaign intended to target inequality in the classroom and eventually the workplace - an attempt to combat the "glass ceiling" which so many girls eventually run up against.
"Today's girls are destined to lead tomorrow's boardrooms and courthouses and run our hospitals and technology start-ups. But a cycle of discouragement is stopping girls from moving forward. They're backing down from their aspirations. They're opting out from activities they once loved. They're even shying away from raising their hands in class," states the To Get Her There website.

At the assembly on Saturday, Zeman and other Girl Scout members signed a banner which will hang in the main lobby at the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri office in Maryland Heights.
