Charitable Shopping Event at ARCO Raises More than $1,300 for Connections to Success

High fashion with a purpose! With the jobs recovery still sluggish, ARCO Construction Company, Inc. recently hosted a mobile boutique of high fashion at its headquarters with the proceeds benefiting disadvantaged women seeking employment and a better life for their families. The event raised $1,306 for Connections to Success, which sold secondhand designer clothing and accessories in its 53-foot-long mobile “Mystique Boutique” to ARCO employees, family and friends.

Connections to Success stocks and sells upscale clothes, shoes, jewelry and accessories for women, donated by local boutiques, retailers and St. Louis citizens. Its mobile shop, which ARCO has also helped fund, features three dressing rooms and a side wall that folds down to become a stage for a fashion show.

Connections to Success is a nonprofit organization that empowers determined individuals with a plan and resources to achieve economic self-reliance. It offers classes, training, programming, mentoring and more, as well as free-of-charge clothing for women entering the workforce.
