A Heat advisory is now in effect for the St. Louis Metro Area including the City of Maplewood until 7 pm CDT Sunday...
Dangerous levels of heat will occur each afternoon through Sunday.
Highest afternoon heat index values of 100 to 107 are expected.
Heat related illness such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke are a real threat.Â

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside.Â
When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to the early morning or evening.Â

Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.

Do not leave children or pets unattended in a car under any circumstances.
Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.Â
Heat stroke is an emergency. Call 9-1-1 immediately.
