Hometown Agency Switch Partnering with St. Louis City Officials, American Red Cross to Aid Hurricane Sandy Victims

Local experiential marketing agency Switch has partnered with St. Louis City officials, the American Red Cross and business partners to create #STLforSandy - an initiative to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy on the East Coast.

"The idea came up in a meeting here at Switch, knowing how many times we’ve done quick-turn, multi-faceted initiatives for our clients; it only made sense for us to mobilize our resources for this truly worthy cause.  We all have friends, clients and relatives benefitting from these efforts … it is really as simple as one community helping another in need," said Switch Marketing Manager Andrew Mullins.

The City of St. Louis with the help of Ann Chance, Director of Special Events for St. Louis City, is helping coordinate
efforts in the city and with the Veteran’s Parade organizers so donations can be dropped off at Soldier's Memorial in Downtown St. Louis 8 a.m.-noon during the ceremonies and before the parade.

“We’ve gotten tremendous support locally with the American Red Cross, the City of St. Louis and area businesses.  I think the residents of the St. Louis Metropolitan area understand that putting lives back together after Sandy’s devastation is a going to be an ongoing challenge.  We remember how generous
other parts of the country were in helping Missourians rebuild after the great flood of 93’ and the Joplin tornado.
This is our opportunity to repay and assist those in desperate need on the East Coast,” said Switch President John Nickel.

The St. Louis community will have the opportunity to donate items for the relief effort at several drop-off locations:
