KODNER GALLERY PRESENTS MISSOURI MASTERS SERIES WITH BILLYO O’DONNELL

Kodner Gallery, one of the most respected names in regional art, presents a brand-new speaker series featuring some of the most highly regarded Missouri artists working today. The Missouri Masters Series is featuring artist Billyo O’Donnell this Saturday, August 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Kodner Gallery, 9650 Clayton Road.

Kodner Gallery’s Missouri Masters Series is a rare opportunity for the public to learn about the creative process of an accomplished artist and observe that process in person. Through lectures and demonstrations, one will also get a feel for the cultural history and relevance of the artwork, the artist’s influences and the genres in which he works, all in the comfortable setting of Kodner Gallery.

Each event features a short lecture and demonstration by the artist, followed by a brief Q & A session and light refreshments.

Missourian Billyo O’Donnell, presenting on Aug. 18, exemplified extraordinary talent even as a young boy. His artwork as a child and young man – spent living a "Huck Finn" kind of life roaming the forests and streams, fishing, hunting, and creating art – has led to many adventures in his current life. Billyo is recognized as one of America’s leading landscape painters by several prestigious plein air invitationals. His greatest and most recent acknowledgment was at the Governor's Mansion in Jefferson City for an unveiling of a selection of his 115 paintings in the book, "Painting Missouri," authored by Karen Glines. Proceeds from the sale of Billyo’s work during the Masters Series will benefit LoveU2Pieces, an organization supporting families of children with autism, www.loveu2pieces.org.
