St. Louis, MO — Schlafly Beer announces the completion of a $160,000 pavilion at its Schlafly Bottleworks brewpub in Maplewood. The steel and wood structure spans 1600 square feet and seats 140 people. It is currently equipped with lighting for evening dining and ceiling fans for air circulation, and it is designed to collect rainwater in wooden barrels and to support heating units for the cooler months so that customers can enjoy it earlier in the spring and later into the fall.

To celebrate, Schlafly Beer will host a free tasting of homebrewed beer for employees and friends of the brewery. The beer is courtesy of several area amateur brewing clubs who had their ales and lagers unexpectedly prohibited from the St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival last June for legal reasons.

At 1PM, Father Gary Braun, Rabbi Andy Kastner, and Pastor Matt Miofsky, will bless the new pavilion.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees will need a ticket to sample beer, and tickets have been set aside for members of participating homebrew clubs, employees, and friends of the brewery. For more information, e-mail swolfe@schlafly.com
