Shoeman Water Projects announces the SHARE H2OPE Gala

Saint Louis, MO (August 16, 2012) – Shoeman Water Projects, a part of the non-profit organization Eagle Wings Ministries, is announcing the SHARE H2OPE Gala to be held on Saturday, September 8 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. at the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac.  The Gala will include live and silent auctions and raffles with proceeds going toward well drilling rigs, purification systems and training programs.

This festive and philanthropic evening will offer guests a chance to win autographed sports memorabilia, art from African artists, spa packages and more.  Additionally, guests will enjoy live music, open bar and hor d’oeurves.

The water and sanitation crisis claims more lives through disease than any war claims through guns according to www.water.org.  With this knowledge, Shoeman Water Projects has collected over 2 million shoes since 2008.  This equates to four water drilling rigs, more than 250 wells drilled serving more than 200,000 people, as well as installation of water purification systems, and repairs to well pumps that serve clinics, schools and villages across the globe.

“When people have clean drinking water, a world of possibilities opens up. The communities we serve use the new water source for drinking, cleaning, livestock and agriculture, which can transform lives,” said George “the Shoeman” Hutchings, Founder of Shoeman Water Projects.

Brown’s Enterprises - New Balance is this year’s Title Sponsor of the SHARE H2OPE Gala.  In addition, Shoeman Water Projects is currently working with Woodcut Press, D & E Electric, The Clean Carpet Company, Google, Inc. and many other invaluable sponsors. The proceeds from the event will be used to help Shoeman Water Projects live its mission to alleviate human suffering wherever found.

About Shoeman Water Projects

One pair of donated shoes serves two! One pair of shoes provides affordable shoes and clean, fresh water. Shoeman Water Projects is a project of Eagle Wings Ministries, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit charity, working to alleviate as much human suffering as possible. Shoeman Water Projects picks up donated used and new shoes year round from businesses, churches, schools, special events and shoe drives. Once collected, the Shoeman exports the shoes to street vendors in South America, Haiti, India, Kenya and other places where people need affordable shoes. Shoe resale builds the local developing economy with retail businesses and affordable shoes.  The money the Shoeman receives from exporting the shoes is used to purchase well drilling rigs, water purification systems, and other supplies to bring clean, fresh water to those who thirst.  Additionally, groups and organizations planning mission trips have the opportunity to purchase a water purification system and receive training on water purification, health and hygiene that they can pass along to the people they serve.
