Siteman Cancer Center Mammography Van to Offer Screenings in Maplewood and Brentwood

The Siteman Cancer Center mammography van is offering breast cancer screenings Jan. 9 at the Maplewood Shop ‘n Save, 7355 Manchester Road, and Feb. 8 at Mid-County Family YMCA, 1900 Urban Drive in Brentwood. The hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mammography, an X-ray examination of the breasts, is the best test for identifying breast cancer before it can be felt – when the cancer is more likely to be curable.

Each exam takes about 30 minutes, and the exam fee will be billed to the patient, her insurance company or Medicare. A Washington University radiologist reads all mammograms, and the results are reported to the patient and her physician.
