YWCA Metro St. Louis recently announced the selection of Peggy Slater as its chief operating officer. Slater, a Brentwood resident, brings more than 20 years of nonprofit experience to the position, with extensive knowledge of organizational visioning, structure and technology to develop or streamline processes to increase competencies and productivity.
She was previously with the Good Shepherd Children and Family Services, a foster care organization, where she managed a staff of 90 people, administered a $3.8 million budget and oversaw the construction of a $4 million facility and renovations of its administrative offices. Prior to that, Slater was employed for six years with Boys Hope Girls Hope’s national office in St. Louis. She held the position of senior vice president for strategic resource development.
“Peggy brings a wealth of leadership and operations experiences that the YWCA will use to catapult our services to a greater level of efficiency and productivity,” said Adrian Bracy, YWCA chief executive officer.
