Active
House USA is an innovative prototype home that not only brings
together the best in US and European green building practices, but is also
taking those practices to the next level. What makes Active House
different is the holistic approach to green building that emphasizes a balance
of indoor air quality, environmental impact, and energy efficiency. Active
House USA is being built to meet the standards set forth by the Active House Alliance in Europe, and will also
be certified under US green building standards including: ANSI ICC-700, also known as the National Green Building
Standard, Energy Star, EPA Indoor Air Quality, and the US Department of
Energy's Builder's Challenge.
