MRH School Board to Welcome New Member

The Maplewood Richmond Heights Board of Education is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

The Maplewood Richmond Heights Board of Education will get an update on construction at the and welcome a new member during a meeting on Thursday.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the and library.

Among other action, the board is scheduled to:

  • Swear in as a board member.
  • Recognize in the season that recently ended.
  • Hear updates on .
  • Hear a presentation evaluating the district's gifted program.
  • Review several district policies.
  • Hear updates about the district's calendar of events, the Missouri School Boards' Association, the district's wellness committee, the Special School District, , the African-American Community Advisory Council and the Senior Citizen Advisory Council.
  • Learn about an administrative retreat.
  • Learn about new staff.
  • Review a professional development plan.
  • Learn about summer school.
  • Consider a proposed budget amendment and look over the May financial statement.
  • Vote on whether to approve construction bids; the professional development plan; a federally required rate increase for food service; bus routes for the 2011-12 school year; a lease purchase agreement; a budget amendment; and other policies.
  • Hold a closed session to discuss personnel.
